Long-term recovery measures include discovering strategies, building routines and involving your family and loved ones so they know how to best support you in your healing journey. Area of Expertise Since 1998, Jennifer Hicks has helped individuals manage the communication related effects of stroke, acquired brain injury, and other neurological disorders (e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease). She is trained in the use of LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment), PROMPT (for apraxia of speech) and SCA (Supported Communication for Adults with Aphasia). Jennifer is a graduate of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto and has worked with individuals with neurological challenges and acquired brain injuries at institutions such as the Bridgepoint Hospital, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, NRC Feldman and Associates, and the Aphasia Institute. In addition to providing Case Management services for Branching Out Case Management, Jennifer maintains her own private practice helping people recovering from stroke, brain trauma and those living with progressive neurological disorders (such as MS and Parkinson’s Disease).
