Professional in-home caregivers, like those at Comfort Keepers® in Ottawa and Kanata, help seniors with Parkinson’s stay safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes. Our trained caregivers provide hands-on support with daily needs, including reminders to take medication on time, help with bathing, grooming, and getting dressed, and assistance with movement to help prevent falls. They also keep a close eye on any changes in symptoms and share updates with family members or doctors when needed.

Good nutrition makes a real difference for people with Parkinson’s, so our caregivers take care of meal planning and cooking, making sure meals are balanced and that eating and drinking are done safely. They also pay attention to appetite and how much food is being eaten, so any changes can be caught early.

We also look at the home itself to make sure it’s a safe place to live. This means clearing away things that could cause a fall, adding mobility aids where they’re helpful, and adjusting daily routines to work better with movement difficulties.

Finally, we know that being alone can make Parkinson’s symptoms worse, so our caregivers offer real companionship. This includes friendly conversation, activities that keep the mind engaged, and steady emotional support and encouragement.
