On October 18, 2025, something remarkable happened in Toronto. More than 600 people living with Parkinson’s, care partners, researchers, and health care providers gathered for Parkinson’s IQ + You – a free event designed to empower the Parkinson’s community with information and support. The energy and excitement were unforgettable.

For many, walking through those doors meant taking a brave first step out of isolation and into community. Some had been living with Parkinson’s for years, while others were diagnosed just a few weeks before. No matter what brought them to the event, they left with more understanding, connection, and hope.

Learning, connecting, sharing

Parkinson’s IQ + You brings together the latest research, expert insights, and real conversations about living well with Parkinson’s. This year’s event in the Greater Toronto Area featured sessions on managing symptoms and navigating care, led by leading researchers and clinicians.

One attendee reflected: “Bryce Perry’s speech at the beginning and his letter to Parkinson’s at the end were so inspirational and gave me so much hope for the future. He spoke like he knew me and everything I was feeling.”

But the most powerful moments? Those happened between sessions in conversations over coffee, in shared experiences during panel discussions, and in the connections made with others who truly understand. Another participant shared:

“It was empowering to share the day with 700 other people living with Parkinson’s. I was grateful to hear the hopeful messages from the panel,”

Why it matters

Living with Parkinson’s can feel isolating. Symptoms are unpredictable, and every person’s experience is different. That’s why Parkinson’s IQ + You creates space for people to learn from experts, but more importantly, to learn from each other. What other place can you look around a room and see hundreds of people affected by Parkinson’s?
