BlogTax Receipts for Donations Tax Receipts for Donations Posted Date : Dec 7, 2017 End-of-Year Tax Receipts as per Canada Revenue Agency requirements Donations received by mail Donations must be post marked by Canada Post as of December 31st. A postmark date after December 31st requires us to issue a charitable tax receipt for the following year. Donations made by telephone/fax Any donation made over the telephone or by fax using a credit card after 11:59 PM on December 31st Eastern Standard Time (EST) will be considered a donation for the following year. Donations that have been couriered or hand delivered Donations must be sent with a courier date or hand delivered date and be received in the Parkinson Canada office in 2017 per the office operations schedule below. Any donations received after these operating dates and times will be issued a tax receipt for the following year. Online donations Online donations are receipted at the time the donation is made. Therefore, any donation made after 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on December 31st will be considered a donation for the following year. Holiday Hours of Operation All Parkinson Canada offices will be open up to the close of business on Friday December 22, 2017 and are available to receive gifts at this time; after this point the following schedule applies: Monday December 25th – Parkinson Canada offices are closed; online donation and receipting system available; Tuesday December 26th – Parkinson Canada offices are closed; online donation and receipting system available; Wednesday December 27th –The Parkinson Canada Toronto office is open from 9 am to 5 pm Thursday December 28th – The Parkinson Canada Toronto office is open from 9 am to 5 pm Friday December 29th – The Parkinson Canada Toronto office is open from 9 am to 5 pm Saturday December 30th – Parkinson Canada offices are closed Sunday December 31st – Parkinson Canada offices are closed Monday January 1, 2018 – Parkinson Canada offices are closed Tuesday January 2, 2018 –Parkinson Canada offices re-open for the New Year All donations received as of January 1, 2018 apply to the 2018 tax year. Online donation and receipting is available at all times at Parkinson.ca.
