1:1 Peer support program

At Parkinson Canada, we offer a national 1:1 peer mentoring program that connects people with Parkinson’s — or those caring for someone — to trained volunteer mentors who’ve walked a similar path.

This program provides one-on-one support based on the lived experience of the mentor to help reduce social isolation, build resilience, and provide guidance. It’s a program that brings individuals together to share experiences, creating a supportive community that understands the challenges of navigating life with Parkinson’s. The program offers opportunities to meet virtually, in-person or in hybrids formats.

Why connect with a peer mentor?

A peer mentor can make a real difference. Whether you’re living with Parkinson’s or caring for someone who is, this program offers:

  • Connection with someone who truly understands.
  • A safe space to share your thoughts, concerns, and questions.
  • Insights and practical advice from real-life experience.
  • A sense of belonging and hope during a challenging time.

You don’t have to navigate Parkinson’s alone — there’s a community ready to walk alongside you.

No need to hear it from us
