As the national voice of over 100,000 Canadians currently living with Parkinson’s, Parkinson Canada seeks to empower the Parkinson’s community through tailored programs & services, innovative research and raising the voice of all Canadians impacted by Parkinson’s. How we show up within our community has never been more important.
As we head into Parkinson’s Awareness Month — recognized internationally during the month of April — we are excited to unveil a refreshed brand identity that is designed to better showcase our commitment to the innovation and progress we see represented within our community.
Refreshed visual elements
Our refreshed visual identity includes a refreshed colour palette, updated typography and a new approach to how we represent the diversity of the Parkinson’s community in Canada. Together, these elements present an opportunity to help better communicate that Parkinson Canada remains committed to best supporting Canadians impacted by Parkinson’s from coast, to coast, to coast.
“A brand identity is so much more than just colours and fonts — it’s about the promise of what a brand has to offer and how it wants to present itself to the world,” says Parkinson Advisory Council Member Jon Affleck. “This updated approach to how Parkinson Canada presents itself perfectly symbolizes its desire to inspire the community and to be a critical resource for so many impacted by Parkinson’s in Canada.”
Brand roll-out next steps
While the roll-out of our updated brand identity has already begun in small ways, it will continue over the coming weeks and months as we refresh our many digital properties, educational resources and print pieces.
“We’ve been thinking about our refreshed brand roll-out as a marathon, not a sprint. Parkinson Canada has a large digital footprint, and updating everything with our new visual identity will take time,” reflects Cameron Dunkin, vice president of strategy, communications and technology. “But we’re confident that our community will agree that it will be worth the wait — just wait until folks see what we have in store for an upcoming overhaul of our website!”
With help from our revitalized visual identity, Parkinson Canada remains dedicated to providing all Canadians impacted by Parkinson’s with the necessary support to realize that a full life is still possible following a diagnosis.
