Opportunity to Participate in Global Survey on Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis

Posted:

Joint Initiative of McGill University Health Centre and Montreal Neurological Institute

We believe that many patients with neurological diseases, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis in particular, experience considerable pain and other often “hidden” symptoms, such as sleep disturbance, mood disturbance, and fatigue, which contribute to the global burden of suffering.

We have joined forces with Dr. Ron Postuma, a researcher and clinician with expertise in Parkinson’s disease, and Dr. Paul Giacomini, a researcher and clinician with expertise in multiple sclerosis, both at the Montreal Neurological Institute, to develop an anonymous, simple, online questionnaire addressing this important issue.

The principal investigators for this study are:

Dr. M. Fitzcharles, Pain Medicine physician, Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit, McGill

Dr. Amir Minerbi, Fellow in Pain Medicine, Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit, McGill

Dr. Yoram Shir, Director, Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit, McGill

Dr. Ron Postuma, Clinical Researcher and Movement Disorders Neurologist

Dr. Paul Giocomini, Associate Director, Multiple Sclerosis Clinic of the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill

The survey is currently open and accepting responses. The link to the website hosting the questionnaire is:  https://minerbi.wixsite.com/neuro and is available in English and in French.

Le sondage Les symptômes chez les personnes avec maladies neurologiques est également disponible en français au https://minerbi.wixsite.com/neuro
