My name is Doug Badger, and Parkinson’s came into our family through my mother-in-law, Penny. She lived with the condition, and we saw firsthand how complex and consuming it can be — not just for the person diagnosed, but for everyone who loves them. We have so much gratitude for community members like you who keep us strong and have our backs when we need it most.

My wife and I made our first GivingTuesday donation to Parkinson Canada in 2025. As an accountant, I’m always thinking about impact. And when your donation is matched, your generosity goes further. A $25 gift becomes $50. A $100 gift becomes $200. The kind of impact a donor creates is hard to pass by. I’m incredibly grateful for your support year after year, and being able to see how it benefited my own family makes it extra special.

This GivingTuesday, thousands of people just like you choose generosity over consumerism. For me, it’s about honouring Penny’s memory and helping make sure other families have more hope, support, and a stronger community behind them.
