Description

NeuroFit is an 8-week exercise program for adults living with neurological conditions. Led by a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, participants attend two supervised classes per week to improve strength, balance, mobility, endurance, and confidence through safe exercise. An initial Physiotherapy Assessment ensures individualized programming.

Suitable for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Guillane-Barré syndrome, Huntington’s Disease and other neurological conditions.

Area of Expertise

To help ensure this program is safe and effective, participants must meet the following participation guidelines:
1. Have a 1:1 Physiotherapy intake appointment at the Wellness Institute to evaluate abilities and limitations.
2. Be able to walk independently, with or without a walking aide, or be accompanied by an attendant.
3. Have the physical ability to actively participate in the exercise session for 45 minutes.
4. Be able to pay attention, follow instructions and mimic exercises. They must be aware of their safe bounds of ability.
5. Be able to manage their own bladder function.
6. Have completed a rehabilitation program after a stroke.
