Description

Clinical Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology Services specializing in healthy aging, dementia, and related cognitive and mental health concerns. Services are provided through a 15-year-established Healthy Aging & Dementia Clinic and are available in person and virtually. Mental health assessment diagnosis is offered to people living with Parkinson’s, care partners, couples, and families through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education, and cognitive rehabilitation interventions.

  • Cognitive rehabilitation intervention for mild (MCI) changes in memory, attention, and executive function
  • CBT-I/BBT-I for sleep difficulty
  • CBT/IPT/ACT/SFT treatment for mood and anxiety symptoms
  • Management of role transitions and adaptation to progressive physical changes, including incontinence, chronic pain, early retirement, and functional changes
  • Improving task engagement, managing outings and events, interpersonal communication, and managing care teams
  • Care partner treatment and support
  • Couples therapy treatment addressing marital/family communication, role transitions, maintaining intimacy, fostering agency and independence in the context of changing physical ability, and care partner burden
  • Family consultations regarding symptom education and expectations for the disease process
  • Presentations for Parkinson’s support groups and education groups, and seniors community groups
  • Non-profit staff training regarding the Parkinson’s experience, care partner issues, potential mental health and cognitive changes, post-menopause issues, and sleep changes
