BlogParkinson Canada CEO Co-Authors Article on Brain Health Research Parkinson Canada CEO Co-Authors Article on Brain Health Research Posted Date : Feb 2, 2018 Parkinson Canada is very pleased to let you know that an opinion article co-authored by Dr. Lynn Raymond, President, Canadian Association for Neuroscience (CAN) and Joyce Gordon, CEO, Parkinson Canada, and Chair, Neurological Health Charities Canada (NHCC), is in the February 2, 2018 Globe and Mail on page A17 in the print edition. This is a great example of the collaboration that NHCC enjoys with the scientific and research community. The article urges the federal government to immediately increase funding of health research (as recommended in the Review of Federal Support for Fundamental Science (Naylor report)) and, equally important, to commit to a unified approach to brain health research through a brain research strategy. Op ed link: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/we-need-a-national-brain-research-strategy/article37820090/ NHCC’s support of a unified approach to brain health research is very much in line with our call for a Canadian Action Plan for Brain Health. Ultimately, the approach would increase collaboration and cooperation amongst researchers, clinicians and other vital service providers, accelerate the pace of discovery science and its subsequent translation into treatments for people living with brain conditions.
