Laura is the Vice President of Board & Organizational Governance at the Institute on Governance. In her role she provides advisory services related to roles, responsibilities and functioning of boards of directors, strategic planning, member engagement, and governance assessments. She also provides tailored learning programs on request. She has a strong professional and academic background in the governance of public purpose organizations, indigenous governance, business management, adult education, and international programming. Laura is also Corporate Secretary to the Institute’s board of directors.
Laura has completed an M.A. in Economics at the University of Guelph, and also holds a Bachelor of
Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition, she lived and worked for two years
in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa and two years in Japan, and has managed projects in South-East Asia and Lesotho.
