Laura Edgar Vice Chair smiling portrait Parkinson CanadaLaura is the Vice President of Board and Organizational Governance at the Institute on Governance. She provides advisory services related to roles, responsibilities and functioning of boards of directors, strategic planning, member engagement, and governance assessments. She also provides tailored learning programs on request.

She has a strong professional and academic background in the governance of public purpose organizations, indigenous governance, business management, adult education, and international programming. Laura is also Corporate Secretary to the Institute’s board of directors.

Currently residing in Ottawa, Laura lived and worked for two years in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa, and for two years in Japan. She has also managed international projects while working in Canada.

Laura has a MA in economics and also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration.
