Retired in 2023, Stewart had led an accomplished career in non-profit leadership having served as VP Corporate Services to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, CEO to the Canadian Hunger Foundation, and as COO and then CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada.

Prior to his non-profit leadership roles, he held senior management and finance positions in professional services. He holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (C.P.A.) designation.

Diagnosed in 2016 and as an advocate for volunteerism, Stewart looks to contributing to and benefiting from a deeper engagement with the Parkinson community in Canada through his role on the Parkinson Advisory Council and in support of the work of Parkinsons Canada. Through the sharing of the experience to a Parkinsons diagnosis with others, it has helped him to more fully accept the diagnosis and its limits, while also providing the motivation and reward of how to live a better life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayant pris sa retraite en 2023, M. Stewart a men\u00e9 une brillante carri\u00e8re dans le secteur associatif, o\u00f9 il a occup\u00e9 les fonctions de vice-pr\u00e9sident des services g\u00e9n\u00e9raux \u00e0 Conservation de la nature Canada, de directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Fondation canadienne contre la faim, ainsi que de directeur de l\u2019exploitation puis de directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d\u2019Habitat pour l\u2019humanit\u00e9 Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avant d\u2019exercer ces fonctions de direction dans le secteur associatif, il a occup\u00e9 des postes de haute direction et dans le domaine financier au sein de cabinets de services professionnels. Il est titulaire du titre de comptable professionnel agr\u00e9\u00e9 (C.P.A.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diagnostiqu\u00e9 en 2016 et fervent d\u00e9fenseur du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat, Stewart souhaite contribuer \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 de la maladie de Parkinson au Canada et tirer profit d\u2019un engagement plus profond aupr\u00e8s de celle-ci gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son r\u00f4le au sein du Conseil consultatif sur la maladie de Parkinson et \u00e0 son soutien au travail de Parkinson Canada. Le fait de partager avec d\u2019autres son exp\u00e9rience du diagnostic de la maladie de Parkinson l\u2019a aid\u00e9 \u00e0 mieux accepter ce diagnostic et ses limites, tout en lui apportant la motivation et la satisfaction n\u00e9cessaires pour mener une vie meilleure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
