{"id":50657,"date":"2025-03-13T18:41:43","date_gmt":"2025-03-13T18:41:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.parkinson.ca\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=50657"},"modified":"2025-03-13T18:41:43","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T18:41:43","slug":"sarah-hoyles","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.parkinson.ca\/fr\/profile\/sarah-hoyles\/","title":{"rendered":"Sarah Hoyles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sarah&rsquo;s experience with Parkinson&rsquo;s began when her dad was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) close to a decade ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the disease has progressed, Sarah has taken on a caretaking role\u2014her career in communications enables her to work from home. She has worked with diverse clients, including the Alberta Medical Association, United Way, Government of Alberta, City of Edmonton, and United Nations Association in Canada. A seasoned journalist and producer, she has crafted programming with CBC and CKUA, as well as branded podcasts for the Edmonton Heritage Council, Volleyball Alberta, and more. Sarah has also taught podcasting workshops at Simon Fraser University, the University of Alberta, and for the Magazine Publishers Associations in Alberta and BC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta and a Journalism degree from the University of King&rsquo;s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much of her time and energy, on and off the job, have been committed to building and celebrating community. Sarah led the Edmonton-based active transportation advocacy group, Paths for People, guided the vision of Walkable Edmonton as its creative director, and volunteered with No Period Without, Homeless Connect, and the Bissell Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When she\u2019s not on the clock, Sarah can be found on the climbing wall or out adventuring with her dogs, Charlie and Ranger\u2014the pack loves to hike and cross-country ski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-responsive-xsmall\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-responsive-xsmall\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience de Sarah avec la maladie de Parkinson a commenc\u00e9 lorsque son p\u00e8re a \u00e9t\u00e9 diagnostiqu\u00e9 avec une atrophie du syst\u00e8me multiple (ASM) il y a pr\u00e8s de dix ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au fur et \u00e0 mesure de l&rsquo;\u00e9volution de la maladie, Sarah a assum\u00e9 un r\u00f4le de soignante &#8211; sa carri\u00e8re en communications lui permet de travailler \u00e0 la maison. Elle a travaill\u00e9 avec divers clients, dont l&rsquo;Alberta Medical Association, Centraide, le gouvernement de l&rsquo;Alberta, la ville d&rsquo;Edmonton et l&rsquo;Association canadienne pour les Nations Unies. Journaliste et productrice chevronn\u00e9e, elle a con\u00e7u des \u00e9missions pour CBC et CKUA, ainsi que des balados de marque pour l&rsquo;Edmonton Heritage Council, Volleyball Alberta et d&rsquo;autres encore. Sarah a \u00e9galement donn\u00e9 des ateliers sur la baladodiffusion \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 Simon Fraser, \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;Alberta et pour l&rsquo;Association des \u00e9diteurs de magazines de l&rsquo;Alberta et de la Colombie-Britannique. Elle est titulaire d&rsquo;un baccalaur\u00e9at \u00e8s arts de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;Alberta et d&rsquo;un dipl\u00f4me en journalisme de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 King&rsquo;s College \u00e0 Halifax, en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une grande partie de son temps et de son \u00e9nergie, au travail et en dehors, a \u00e9t\u00e9 consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 la construction et \u00e0 la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de la communaut\u00e9.
