{"id":47672,"date":"2025-01-23T19:52:28","date_gmt":"2025-01-23T19:52:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/parkinson.ca\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=47672"},"modified":"2025-02-12T21:37:39","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T21:37:39","slug":"glenda-doucet-boudreau","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.parkinson.ca\/fr\/profile\/glenda-doucet-boudreau\/","title":{"rendered":"Glenda Doucet-Boudreau"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Glenda, now a retired registered nurse, started her volunteer community involvement as a teenager with her mom as a role model and her participation in the 4-H movement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The philosophy was if it doesn\u2019t exist, we\u2019ll build one. And so it was for family daycare, a children\u2019s program named \u2018Jouer et apprendre\u2019, a Well Women \u2018s Clinic, homogeneous French schools and an Asthma Support group. A very capable group of people working hard to achieve their goal was the winning combination.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenda\u2019s causes have been wellness, education and women\u2019s issues. Glenda has received several distinctions : La Pl\u00e9iade 2019 , Prix May Bouchard 2021 , La M\u00e9rite L\u00e9ger- Comeau 2022, and \u2018Donner le meilleur de soi\u2019 of the Lieutenant Governor of NS 2023.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenda started her Parkinson\u2019s journey in 2020. Not being interested in sports but being aware of the importance of exercise for this disease, she started her quest for an exercise she would enjoy. Parkinson Canada held a webinar: Get moving! Parkinson\u2019s and Exercise Mini \u2013 Expo on February 23 , 2022.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-responsive-xsmall\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-responsive-xsmall\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenda, infirmi\u00e8re dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e aujourd&rsquo;hui \u00e0 la retraite, a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 s&rsquo;engager b\u00e9n\u00e9volement dans la communaut\u00e9 d\u00e8s l&rsquo;adolescence, avec sa m\u00e8re comme mod\u00e8le et sa participation au mouvement 4-H. La philosophie \u00e9tait la suivante : si un projet n&rsquo;existe pas, nous en construirons un.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La philosophie \u00e9tait la suivante : s&rsquo;il n&rsquo;existe pas, il faut le construire. C&rsquo;est ainsi qu&rsquo;elle a mis sur pied une garderie familiale, un programme pour enfants intitul\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Jouer et apprendre\u00a0\u00bb, une clinique pour femmes en bonne sant\u00e9, des \u00e9coles fran\u00e7aises homog\u00e8nes et un groupe de soutien pour les asthmatiques. Un groupe de personnes tr\u00e8s comp\u00e9tentes travaillant d&rsquo;arrache-pied pour atteindre leur objectif, voil\u00e0 la combinaison gagnante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les causes de Glenda ont \u00e9t\u00e9 le bien-\u00eatre, l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation et les questions relatives aux femmes. Glenda a re\u00e7u plusieurs distinctions : La Pl\u00e9iade 2019 , Prix May Bouchard 2021 , La M\u00e9rite L\u00e9ger- Comeau 2022, et &lsquo;Donner le meilleur de soi&rsquo; du Lieutenant Gouverneur de la N.-\u00c9. 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenda a commenc\u00e9 son parcours dans la maladie de Parkinson en 2020. N&rsquo;\u00e9tant pas int\u00e9ress\u00e9e par le sport, mais consciente de l&rsquo;importance de l&rsquo;exercice pour cette maladie, elle s&rsquo;est mise en qu\u00eate d&rsquo;un exercice qui lui plairait. Parkinson Canada a organis\u00e9 un webinaire : Bougez !
