Mestre"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><abbr title=\"Doctor\">Dr.<\/abbr> Tiago A. Mestre, <abbr title=\"Doctor of Medicine\">MD<\/abbr>, <abbr title=\"Master of Science\">M.Sc.<\/abbr>, is a neurologist specializing in movement disorders. He completed his doctorate in medicine training at Lisbon Medical School. He became interested in movement disorders during his neurology training under the mentorship of <abbr title=\"Professor\">Prof.<\/abbr> Joaquim Ferreira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><abbr title=\"Doctor\">Dr.<\/abbr> Mestre then went on to complete a clinical and research fellowship under the supervision of <abbr title=\"Professor\">Prof.<\/abbr> Anthony Lang at the University of Toronto. He also has two master&rsquo;s degrees, one in neuroscience from Lisbon Medical School and another in clinical epidemiology from the University of Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><abbr title=\"Doctor\">Dr.<\/abbr> Mestre is currently an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa and an associate scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He also is the director of the Deep Brain Stimulation program at The Ottawa Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><abbr title=\"Doctor\">Dr.<\/abbr> Mestre&rsquo;s main research interests are the development of therapies for unmet health care needs, which include conducting clinical trials; care integration in Parkinson&rsquo;s; and study of placebo treatments. Currently, he serves as co-chair of the Task Force on Parkinson&rsquo;s Subtypes at the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-responsive-xsmall\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-responsive-xsmall\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Dr Tiago A. Mestre est un neurologue sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans les troubles du mouvement. Il a obtenu son doctorat en m\u00e9decine \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cole de m\u00e9decine de Lisbonne. Il s&rsquo;est int\u00e9ress\u00e9 aux troubles du mouvement au cours de sa formation en neurologie, sous la direction du professeur Joaquim Ferreira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Dr Mestre a ensuite effectu\u00e9 un stage clinique et de recherche sous la supervision du professeur Anthony Lang \u00e0 l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Toronto. Il est \u00e9galement titulaire de deux ma\u00eetrises, l&rsquo;une en neurosciences \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cole de m\u00e9decine de Lisbonne et l&rsquo;autre en \u00e9pid\u00e9miologie clinique \u00e0 l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Dr Mestre est actuellement professeur adjoint \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 d&rsquo;Ottawa et chercheur associ\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;Institut de recherche de l&rsquo;H\u00f4pital d&rsquo;Ottawa. Il est \u00e9galement directeur du programme de stimulation c\u00e9r\u00e9brale profonde \u00e0 l&rsquo;H\u00f4pital d&rsquo;Ottawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les principaux int\u00e9r\u00eats de recherche du Dr Mestre sont le d\u00e9veloppement de th\u00e9rapies pour des besoins de sant\u00e9 non satisfaits, ce qui inclut la conduite d&rsquo;essais cliniques, l&rsquo;int\u00e9gration des soins dans la maladie de Parkinson et l&rsquo;\u00e9tude des traitements par placebo.
