{"id":31851,"date":"2021-08-12T10:30:14","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T14:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/parkinson-export.local\/?post_type=clinical-trial&#038;p=31851"},"modified":"2021-08-12T10:30:14","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T14:30:14","slug":"treating-anxiety-in-parkinsons-disease-with-a-multi-strain-probiotic-tap","status":"publish","type":"clinical-trial","link":"https:\/\/www.parkinson.ca\/fr\/clinical-trial\/treating-anxiety-in-parkinsons-disease-with-a-multi-strain-probiotic-tap\/","title":{"rendered":"Treating Anxiety in Parkinson\u2019s Disease With a Multi-Strain Probiotic (TAP)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The TAP trial is a blinded clinical trial evaluating the use of an oral multi-strain probiotic in the treatment of anxiety in individuals with Parkinson\u2019s disease, as well as monitoring changes to the gut microbiome.<\/p>\n<p>You may be eligible if the following apply:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have Parkinson\u2019s disease experience &#038; mild-moderate anxiety<\/li>\n<li>Between the ages of 40-80<\/li>\n<li>You do not have other neurological disorders such as Alzheimer\u2019s disease<\/li>\n<li>You have not had Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and are not on Duodopa<\/li>\n<li>You are not currently receiving psychotherapy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The trial involves two study visits conducted remotely and in-person at UBC (approx. 6-8 hours \/each). Visits include screening procedures, clinical assessments, questionnaires, blood samples and collection of fecal samples at home.
