National Project Manager, SuperWalk for Parkinson’s (part-time, six-month opportunity) Parkinson Society Canada, National Office, Toronto, Ontario
Our Mission Parkinson Society Canada is the national voice of Canadians living with Parkinson’s. Our purpose is to ease the burden and find a cure through, research, education, support services, and advocacy. What We Need: SuperWalk is the national signature event of Parkinson Society Canada. Reporting to the National Director of Member Relations, it is preferable for the incumbent to work at the National Office location but consideration will be given to working remotely from anywhere within Canada. This exceptional individual will be responsible for taking the event to the next level of growth nationally in terms of sponsorship, participants, and awareness. This three day (3) part time position is available from June to December 31, 2010. Responsibilities: · Lead the implementation of the national strategy and report on results · Plan & Coordinate the National SuperWalk event · Work with regional coordinators to ensure they have the resources and support needed to achieve goals · Manage all national operational elements of the event including web site and on-line giving programs · Work with on-line supplier on new initiatives · Liaise with and support regional coordinators and SuperWalk events across the country · Solicit and manage national sponsorship donations and relationships (sponsor recognition, reporting, development of sponsor packages, and recruitment of sponsors) · Ensure supplier and delivery deadlines are met · Develop and monitor critical paths for SuperWalk FY10 and FY11 · Develop, administer and monitor the annual SuperWalk budget · Coordinate and produce all national communications, marketing and advertising materials in collaboration with the national communications and marketing department Qualifications: · Post secondary degree in appropriate discipline · Minimum of five (5) years progressive event management experience preferably at a national level · Experience in volunteer management · Demonstrated experience in securing and stewarding sponsorships · Demonstrated leadership, organizational, budgetary and presentation skills · Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills · Experience in working with and managing across a multilevel organization · Excellent research, analytical and written skills · Proficient in MS Office and Fundraising Software (Sage 100 or Raiser’s Edge) · Excellent written & oral communication skills · A high degree of initiative, attention to details, excellent time management and multi-tasking skills · Demonstrated ability to be flexible · Outgoing, enthusiastic and positive · Ability to travel across Canada · A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle · Innovative If you would like to join a dynamic team, please send your resume and cover letter, in confidence stating salary expectations on or before Monday, June 7, 2010.
