Why You Should Give
There currently is no cure for Parkinson’s – one of the most baffling and complex of the neurological disorders. We can’t promise that there will be a cure tomorrow, but we do know that if we don’t fund research today, there most definitely won’t be a cure tomorrow. Parkinson Society Canada is the only National organization specifically supporting Canadian Parkinson’s research. But our work is much broader. The need for research is critical and the need for support and assistance today for people living with Parkinson’s is equally as strong. We also know that the impact of Parkinson’s is far reaching. The greatest impact is felt by the person living with Parkinson’s and there is also a significant impact on the family as a whole. Parkinson Society Canada focuses its efforts in four areas – Research, Education, Support Services and Advocacy. Research = Better treatment and eventually a cure Education = Public understanding and ability to cope with Parkinson's Support = Better quality of life Advocacy = A national voice for people living with Parkinson's and better policies
